Cilic and Aslan's brilliant performance at Adelaide International, reaches semifinals

Former US Open champion Marin Cilic has made it to the semifinals of the second Adelaide International Tennis Tournament. Cilic, a 33-year-old Croatian, defeated Tommy Paul 6-4, 2-6, 6-3 in the quarterfinals of the United States. Fourth rank Cilic won 4 of 5 matches this year and reached the semi-finals of the Adelaide International last week.

In the women's category, third rank Koko Goff of the United States defeated Anna Konju of Croatia 6-3, 6-4 to advance to the last four. In the Sydney Tennis Classic, fourth rank Anett Kontaveit of Estonia won the first set of the quarterfinals against Tunisia's Ons Jabaur when Jabaur had to leave the court due to a groin injury. Kontaveit is now set to face 3rd rank Barbora Kreisikova, who defeated France's Carolyn Garcia 6-0, 6-2.

In the men's category, top rank Aslan Karatsev defeated 5th rank Lorenzo Sonego 6-2, 3-6, 6-2 in the other quarterfinals. Karatsev will face Dan Evans in the semifinals.
