Bhubaneswar: Britain's Queen Elizabeth II has passed away. Since her death, a series of discussions have started on social media and users in India have started demanding to bring back the Kohinoor diamond. Meanwhile, the Odisha-based Jagannath Sena has claimed that the Kohinoor diamond originally belongs to Lord Jagannath and has demanded that it be brought back.

In fact, the Jagannath Army has claimed that the Kohinoor diamond belonged to Lord Jagannath. Not only this, but the Jagannath Army has also sought the intervention of President Draupadi Murmu in bringing back the diamond. In a memorandum submitted to the President, the Jagannath Sena sought the President's intervention to facilitate the process of bringing back the Kohinoor diamond to the famous 12th-century Puri temple. Jagannath Sena convenor Priya Darshan Patnaik said in a memorandum that the Kohinoor diamond belongs to Lord Jagannath, but now this precious diamond is with the Queen of England.  Our Prime Minister is requested to take steps to bring it to India for Lord Jagannath. She said Maharaja Ranjit Singh had voluntarily donated the Kohinoor to Lord Jagannath.

At present, after the death of the Queen of Britain, Kohinoor is once again in the headlines. The demand to bring back Kohinoor to India has been raised several times. However, Britain has always refused to give this diamond. According to an estimate, the Kohinoor is worth around Rs 1.5 lakh crore. Kohinoor is considered one of the most precious gems in the world. Kohinoor is believed to have been found in excavations in the Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh in the year 1310 during the reign of the Khatiya dynasty. At the same time, it is also believed that, in 1310 AD, Alauddin Khilji attacked the Maa Bhadrakali temple in Andhra Pradesh and looted this diamond in the left eye of the goddess, after which the Kohinoor diamond passed from one hand to the other, from Babur, Humayun, Sher Shah Suri to Shah Jahan, Aurangzeb and Maharaja Ranjit Singh of Patiala.
