British Foreign Secretary reveals, 'China cannot be trusted for international responsibilities'

British Foreign Secretary Dominic Rabb has raised a question whether China can be trusted with international obligations after the move to set new security laws for Hong Kong? The UK has said that this law violates the historic agreement to assign territory to China. Rabb further said that this is a matter of trust and not only that many countries around the world are asking the question whether China fulfills its international obligations? If they cannot be trusted to put their point on Hong Kong, then why should they be trusted to carry out their wider international responsibilities?

This is what Rabb's comments came after China's Ambassador to Britain, Liu Xiaoming, described the remarks on the new security law in Hong Kong as 'interference' in China's internal affairs. Britain has said that it will provide citizenship for millions of Hong Kong people, citing the danger as a result of the security law. This law empowers the police to investigate properties, seize properties without warrants under special circumstances.

The US has banned Chinese and Hong Kong officials responsible for weakening the law and the region's independence. Rabb further stated that Britain has not refused to consider it. After the passage of Magnetsky-style sanctions on human rights abuses and foreign officials involved in crime, Rabb in the House of Commons was asked questions about targeting China in this law. Regarding this, he said that work is going on regarding what will be the next step. Rabb announced new rules in the House of Commons on Monday, as well as details about the restrictions.
