Mumbai: There is only 48 hours left for campaigning in Maharashtra. In the final phase, all the parties have given their full strength. PM Modi has two rallies in Maharashtra today. Today, BJP National President Amit Shah has four rallies in Maharashtra. A total of 3237 candidates are contesting the assembly elections. According to the information released by the Election Commission on Thursday, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) is contesting the maximum seats.

The BSP is contesting in 262 seats and the BJP in 164 seats. However, 14 coalition candidates are also contesting on the BJP election symbol. Communist Party of India 16, Marxist Communist Party is contesting in eight seats. Similarly, Congress is contesting 147 seats, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena 101 and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) in 121 seats. The Shiv Sena is contesting 124 seats. There are 1400 independent candidates. 3001 male and 235 female candidates are in the fray.

If we talk about age-old voters, then the number of voters between 18 and 25 years is 10676013. The number of voters between 25 and 40 years is 31313396 and the number of voters between 40-60 years is 32539026. While the number of voters above 60 years of age is 15193584.
