Lucknow: After the Supreme Court's rebuke to suspended BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma, reactions from politicians on the issue have constantly been coming to the fore. Similarly, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo and former CM Mayawati have made a big statement on the issue.

BSP supremo Mayawati tweeted from her official Twitter handle, "Hon'ble Supreme Court's strict stand against Nupur Sharma today and the direction to apologise to her for throwing the country into a violent atmosphere by her provocative statement is an important lesson for all those who are shining their politics by throwing the country into the fire of communalism.''

In another tweet, Mayawati wrote, "At the same time, despite an FIR against Nupur Sharma for his hate speech, the inactive attitude of the police towards him was also a matter of inaction. It is possible that there may be a slight restriction on such a trend by the court.'' Let me tell you that, the Supreme Court had held Nupur Sharma responsible for the murder of Kanhaiyalal in Udaipur, saying that the entire country was on fire because of you, you should apologise in front of the whole country.
