Lucknow: The 'illegal construction' of houses of six of the 11 accused in the molestation of a woman in Uttar Pradesh's Hamirpur last month was demolished by the municipal council officials. All the accused were arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting and misbehaving with a woman.

Giving information in this case, the officials have said that they investigated the illegal construction of the houses of these accused, after which it has been decided to demolish them. According to information provided by the officials, the six accused had occupied government land to enlarge the space of their houses. Hamirpur Municipality Executive Officer Anupam Shukla said they were provided with a list of people allegedly involved in the incident by the local police.

The municipality official has informed that the team found in the investigation that the houses of some of the arrested accused were made of clay, so it was decided not to take action against them. Last month, Hamirpur police arrested 11 people, including three minors, for allegedly molesting and assaulting a man and a woman.
