New Delhi: Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia revealed during a press conference on Friday that the initial phase of the Bullet Train project is slated to commence within the next three years. Additionally, the construction of Ayodhya's Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram International Airport is on track to be completed by the end of this month.
Earlier this week, Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw showcased a striking video of India's inaugural bullet train terminal situated at the Sabarmati Multimodal Transport Hub in Ahmedabad.
"The first segment of the Bullet Train will be operational within three years," stated Scindia.
Assuring further developments, the Aviation Minister committed to the timely completion of the Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram International Airport in Ayodhya, aimed at welcoming visitors for the consecration of the Holy Temple scheduled in January.
"I recently inspected the Ayodhya airport project alongside UP CM Yogi Adityanath. By month's end, the Ayodhya airport will be fully prepared. I am overseeing the project on a daily basis. PM Modi will inaugurate the airport along with initiating flight operations," he added.
Significantly, the construction of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya is progressing rapidly, with plans for inauguration by PM Modi on January 22.
Touching upon the Vande Bharat trains and governmental initiatives, Scindia expressed, "Presently, 23 Vande Bharat trains are operational in the country. Our objective is to introduce 4,500 Vande Bharat trains by 2047. The Indian government is committed to reducing carbon emissions from trains to net zero in the forthcoming years."
"The rail budget for 2013-14 stood at Rs 29,000 crore, and today, it has escalated ninefold in nine years to reach Rs 2.4 lakh crore," highlighted the Minister.
Furthermore, the Minister emphasized the transformative phase India entered after 2014 with PM Narendra Modi at the helm, citing a lack of leadership and vision prior to that era.
"Before 2014, there was a dearth of vision and leadership in the country... A new chapter commenced in 2014... A capital expenditure project of Rs 10 lakh crore is underway... The Indian Railway system is the world's fastest-growing. The construction of the world's highest railway bridge in J&K is in progress. PM Modi prioritized the most neglected parts of the country—J&K and the Northeastern states--as focal points of national development. He elevated J&K to the forefront of national attention," elaborated said.
