Srinagar: A tragic accident took place on Tuesday (May 30) morning when a bus overturned in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. In this accident, 10 people have died and the injured are being treated in the hospital. The accident took place when a bus full of passengers was going from Amritsar to Katra. Meanwhile, the bus fell into the ditch. However, most of the people suffered minor injuries. The condition of five is said to be critical. The rescue operation was carried out with the help of Jammu administration and CRPF team.

According to the report, the accident took place in Jammu district of Jammu and Kashmir. A bus skidded off the bridge and fell into a ditch below. So far 10 people have lost their lives in this road accident and 56 people have been injured who have been admitted to local hospitals. The bus was on its way to Katra when the accident took place in Jhajjar Kotli area, they said. The pilgrims in the bus were on their way to visit the Mata Vaishno Devi shrine. Katra is the base camp for the world famous pilgrimage site situated atop the Trikuta hills.

A family from Dihri in Suryagarha of Lakhisarai had gone to Vaishno Devi to shave their children. Due to this, the bus fell into a ditch while going from Amritsar to Katra and 10 people are reported to have died. So far, it is known that 7 people belong to Dihri village from the same family. Two of his relatives are said to be from Pipariya village. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has expressed grief over the accident due to the fall of a bus into a gorge near Jhajjar Kotli on the National Highway in Jammu and Kashmir. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has expressed grief over the loss of lives in the accident. The CM has prayed to God to give strength to the bereaved families to bear this grief in this hour of grief. The Chief Minister has announced a grant of Rs 2 lakh each to the next of kin of the deceased from Bihar from the Chief Minister's Relief Fund.
