NEW DELHI: The Delhi Police has arrested a butcher for allegedly raping and killing a minor girl of 8 year,  and later dumping her body in Central Delhi. The victim had seen Rizwan, alias Badshah, in a compromising position with her mother and therefore he decided to kill her.

The victim's father said, he was sleeping at his home with his wife and 4 children on the intervening night of August 4 and 5. Early morning at about 4 am., when he woke up he found one of his daughters missing. His desperate search in nearby locations did not yield any result, a senior police official mentioned the man as saying.

An investigation was launched after a case was filed under section 363 of the IPC. An extensive search of the victim was started but no clue was found.

On August 18, a body with a sharp injury was found in the IP estate next to Yamuna Khadar. At this, Section 302 Indian Penal Code,and POCSO act was added and investigation was taken up.

Given the sensitivity of the situation, a team of 50 police officers was constituted. To track down the accused, a manhunt was started. All the nearby CCTV cameras were checked but no clue was found. Also, 200 residents of the Yamuna Khadar neighbourhood and its surroundings were questioned.

After that, it was learned undercover that Badshah frequently visited the jhuggi and had been seen attempting to make small talk with the victim by purchasing her chocolates.
