Trai has tied up with a new company to launch this facility across the country. The authority had earlier inked a deal for it from the Centre for Development of Telemax.

TRAI started the beta version of the network coverage map with a limited level last year. The facility was available only in two telecom circles including Delhi. TRAI Chairman Rs Sharma recently reported that the network coverage map for the entire country is being worked out. It will be easier to locate areas where the network is not or is partial. He has been tied up with a new company, which is working it. In addition, information can be collected from telecom companies.

In his statement, Sharma said that the regulator is always concerned about the quality of service. This is keeping a close watch on the quality of service being offered by the telecom companies. He said we have increased the number of cities... Now more than 100 cities are being covered. In addition, highways and railroads are also being covered with ease.
