A murder report has been lodged against six policemen, including the then inspector, in the case of Suleman's death in Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh, during a disturbance in Nahtaur over protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) after he passed from Parliament in India.

According to media reports, Anas and Suleman were killed on 20 December in Nhataur due to firing. While Salman, Kafeel and Omraj were injured by the bullet. Many policemen were injured including Inspector Ashish Tomar, Swat team soldier Mohit. Anas was shot .32 bore and Suleman was shot 9 mm.

On Saturday, Suleman's brother Shueb filed a complaint at the Nahtaur police station. It was alleged that the then police station in-charge inspector Rajesh Solanki, the town incharge sub-inspector Ashish Tomar, the swat team soldier Mohit and three other policemen took Suleman from the house in the street opposite the madrasa near Ghassamandi. Killed Suleman by killing him. On the other hand, Inspector Satya Prakash Singh, in-charge of Nahtaur police station, said that a report has been filed against six policemen. Action will be taken on the basis of evidence.
