After learning from the Yogi Adityanath government of Uttar Pradesh, the BS Yeddyurappa government of Karnataka will now compensate the government property from the protesters. Protests were held in Mangaluru against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) on 19 December in Karnataka. After which there was a violent clash between the police and the protesters.

On Thursday, Revenue Minister R Ashok said that the government will take a decision on this soon. A mob went out of control and started robbing arms at Mangaluru North Police Station. After which the police were forced to shoot. Two protesters were killed in it. The state government has announced compensation to the families of the deceased. Uttar Pradesh is the only state so far that has started the recovery process by sending notices to the protesters. The UP government has issued notices to about 130 people who have been asked to pay Rs 50 lakh. If they do not do so, their property will be attached.

For your information, let us tell you that through videos and pictures during the demonstration, people are being sent notices to those who threw stones or damaged property. Hours before Ashoka's announcement, his partner CT Ravi and party MP Shobha Karandlaje, following the example of UP, raised the demand for punitive measures against the rioters of Mangaluru. Penalty should be imposed for delivery. He suggested that the protesters should be booked under the Gunda Act. Former Congress minister UT Khadar says that instead of making such statements, the Karnataka government should focus on maintaining peace in the state.
