Cambodian PM receives Ceremonial welcome at Rashtrapati Bhawan

New Delhi [India], Jan 27 (NT): Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen received ceremonial reception at the Rashtrapati Bhawan in Delhi on Saturday which is to be followed by a wreath-laying ceremony at Mahatma Gandhi's memorial in Rajghat.

Later in the day, External Affairs Minister (EAM) Sushma Swaraj will call on the Cambodian Prime Minister.

After the talks, PM Hun Sen will hold delegation-level talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The Cambodian Prime Minister is also programmed to meet with President Ram Nath Kovind and Vice-President Venkaiah Naidu.

The Cambodian premier, who was also among 10 ASEAN leaders as the chief guest at the Republic Day commemoration, is commencing his state visit to India from today. The two Premiers are likely to talk about the wide range of issues with considering to India-Cambodia ties. Key agreements are also expected to be inked to strengthen bilateral cooperation.

The India ASEAN ties had a clear imprint on India's 69th Republic Day celebrations. First-time in India's history, World leaders of all 10 ASEAN countries attended the Republic Day parade. And were seen sharing light moments with each other and capturing the memories in their cameras. On the back of India's pronouncement of Padma Shri for 1 individual from each of the 10 ASEAN countries, the Republic Day parade saw 2 tableaus on the India ASEAN partnership with the focus on cultural, civilization, maritime and trade ties. The charisma of the ASEAN leadership on the momentous occasion added a new vigor to the India-ASEAN strategic ties. (NT)
