CANBERRA: Despite behind in the polls, Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison stated on Friday that he can still win the May 21 federal election. Morrison stated that polls showing his Coalition on the verge of losing the election aren't always conclusive because many voters are still undecided.

According to surveys, the opposition Labor Party is on track to win up to 80 of the 151 seats in Parliament's lower house, the House of Representatives, and establish the government for the first time since 2013.

The Australian Financial Review (AFR) reported Morrison on Friday as saying, "People haven't made up their minds and they're attempting to establish what will drive their choice." "At the end of the day, it's going to come down to someone they believe has the credibility to deal with these demands." Friday was the 26th day of the election campaign, and the culmination of a week dominated by economic concerns.

The Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) recently raised the official cash rate to 0.35 percent, an increase of 25 basis points. It was the first rate hike in in 11 years, and it was seen as a setback for Morrison's campaign, which has mostly concentrated on the Coalition's economic performance.

According to a survey released on Friday by the Australian National University (ANU), lowering the cost of living is the top priority among voters in the run-up to the election. The high cost of living was highlighted by 64.7 percent of the more than 3,500 participants as a problem that needs to be "urgently addressed." Cost of living was shown to cut across party lines, with more than 60% of supporters of both main parties naming it as a serious issue. Fixing the aged care system was likewise ranked second, with 60.1 percent of respondents citing it as a top priority chevalier.
Concerns about the economy, healthcare costs, and climate change were also high on the list.
