Ottawa: Canada is experiencing record-breaking scorching heat these days. Many people have also died. Meanwhile, the situation worsened when a fire broke out in the western part of the country. During a press conference, Premier John Horgan reported that there have been 62 fire-related incidents in the Province of British Columbia within just 24 hours. 'Every part of British Columbia is at risk of fire at the moment,' he said.
Liton, 250 km from Vancouver, is also suffering a lot. Local MP Brad Win explained, 'Liton is constantly suffering and 90 percent of the villages have been burnt (British Columbia Province Fire). These include places that come to the city center.' On Wednesday evening, 250 villagers were evacuated to safety, with about 1,000 people evacuated so far. That too at a time when Canada has recorded a record temperature of 49.6 degrees Celsius.
Later, people from many other places in Liton have also been evacuated safely. Briefing about the case, Defence Minister Harjit Sajjan said, 'The last 24 hours have been very difficult for the residents of Liton.' He also said that Canadian security forces have been sent to support the people in this difficult time. Officials in the province said they have not received any information about anyone killed or injured due to fire-related incidents.
