Mumbai: Yoga guru Baba Ramdev has claimed that cancer cases have increased in the country after the coronavirus pandemic, although medical experts say there is no link between the two and the rise in cancer cases is a normal phenomenon. According to the agency, Ramdev made the remarks while addressing a gathering in Goa, with Goa CM Pramod Sawant also present on the dais. He said that cancer cases have increased a lot after the corona pandemic. After Corona, people lost their eyesight, and ability to hear.

However, popular oncologist Dr. Salkar said that cancer cases are increasing by five percent annually and it has nothing to do with the corona pandemic. Dr. Shekhar Salkar, oncologist and former head of the Indian Medical Association's Goa unit, said that with the increase in population across the world, the number of cancer cases is increasing.

Dr. Salkar said that cancer cases are not going to reduce. But you cannot blame the Corona epidemic for this, without naming Baba Ramdev, he said that celebrities should give statements responsibly because people trust their words. Dr. Salkar said that there are 104 cancer patients per lakh population in India, an increase of 85 patients per lakh in 2018. But at the same time, we are much better than America, whose rate is crossing 500 patients per lakh. Dr. Salkar is also the head of the Medical Cell of the Goa BJP. He said that if we do not fix our lifestyle, India can cross America's cancer rate. Surgical Oncologist Dr. Shraddharan N also said that a five percent increase in the number of cancer patients is a normal phenomenon. But there is no such data that proves that cancer cases have increased after Corona.
