New Delhi: The Delhi High Court has given a big decision regarding the Central Army Police Forces (CAPF). The high court said that the Central Army Police Forces should also get the benefit of the Old Pension Scheme (OPS). The court further said that this information has been given in the notification issued on December 22, 2003.

The High Court has said that these are armed forces, hence eligible for the scheme. With this decision of the court, a new ray of hope has arisen among thousands of ex-servicemen. The CAPF comprises police forces like Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Arms Border Force (BSF), Border Security Force (BSF) as well as Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP). This decision of the High Court has given a new ray of hope for the soldiers of all these forces.

A bench of Justices Suresh Kumar Kait and Nina Bansal Krishna pronounced the verdict on 82 petitions. The court said that whether a soldier is being recruited in these armed forces today, whether a soldier has been recruited earlier or if a soldier has to be recruited in the coming time, then all these soldiers and officers will get the benefits of the old pension scheme.
