Amritsar: After the announcement of the proposed assembly elections in Punjab, the Election Commission has given the election symbol to the former Chief Minister of the state Captain Amarinder Singh's party 'Punjab Lok Congress' (PLC). The election symbol of Amarinder Singh's party is the hockey stick and the ball. Voting will be held for the assembly elections in the state on February 14. Whereas, the election results will be declared on 10 March 2022.

Let us inform that Captain Amarinder Singh has already announced that the state assembly elections will be contested in alliance with BJP and Shiromani Akali Dal (United). Significantly, on 6 December 2021, Captain Amarinder Singh had announced to contest the elections in alliance with the BJP. After opening his party office in Chandigarh, he had said, 'Our aim is to win the Punjab Assembly elections and we will definitely win.' The Captain had said that one should always choose the winners and support the same candidates. Apart from this, he had also indicated an alliance with the Taksali leader Dhindsa.

Let us inform that Captain Amarinder Singh, the former Chief Minister of the state, had sent his resignation to Congress interim President Sonia Gandhi by writing a letter on November 2, 2021, after a prolonged political tussle with Navjot Singh Sidhu. Simultaneously, the Captain had also announced his new party 'Punjab Lok Congress'.
