An official stated on Sunday that Raipur police had filed a case against Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel's father, Nand Kumar Baghel, for allegedly making derogatory remarks against a group. According to him, the DD Nagar police here registered an FIR against Mr. Nand Kumar Baghel (75) late Saturday night after receiving a complaint from the 'Sarv Brahmin Samaj.'

According to the official, the CM's father recently issued a plea to people to shun Brahmins by referring to them as outsiders, and also advised people not to allow them to enter their villages.

Mr. Nand Kumar Baghel was also accused of making derogatory remarks about Lord Ram, according to the complaint, he added. The organization also claimed that a video of the CM's father's alleged statements was available on social media sites, he said.
