Visakhapatnam: Anoop Kumar Satpathy, Divisional Railway Manager, Waltair, inaugurated the e-vehicles on Saturday. This facility has been set up at Visakhapatnam Railway Station, Gate No 1, in which two wheelers and four wheelers are available on rent. Launching the facility, DRM introduced ride e-bike and drive e-car.

Waltair Division of East Coast Railway has introduced e-car and e-bike for hire at Visakhapatnam railway station. With competitive pricing and optimum quality, e-bikes and e-cars can be accessed by both the public and commuters. In addition, the Divisional Railway Manager inaugurated two water coolers donated by Sri Sathya Sai Seva Samiti, Railway Zone at Platform No. 1 and 8 each and a renovated multipurpose stall at Platform No. 1 at Visakhapatnam Railway Station.

Visakhapatnam is a major railway station located in Andhra Pradesh, India. It is on the Howrah-Chennai main line and is administered by the Indian Railways under the South Coast Railway zone. Originally named Waltair Railway Station, it was established in 1896. In 1987, Visakhapatnam Mayor D.V. Subbarao named the station "Visakhapatnam" as it was the largest and A1-class station in the East Coast Railway.
