Panipat: Fed up of police harassment, the body of BJP leader and former councilor Harish Sharma, who jumped into the canal, has been recovered by the NDRF from Khubbu Canal in Sonipat on the fourth day. After which, when the body was brought to Panipat at 4:20 pm, the family and supporters blocked the GT road. According to the complaint given by the family 4 days ago, they were demanding to file a case against 5 people including SP Manisha Chaudhary of Panipat, outpost in-charge Baljeet Malik and sub-inspector Mahabir.

Meanwhile, Haryana Home Minister Anil Vij rebuked DGP Manoj Yadav. He ordered that according to the complaint of Anjali Sharma, register an FIR and send a copy in one hour. After this, in the late evening, a case has been registered on 5 people including policemen for forcing him to commit suicide, conspiracy and abetment of crime. IG Bharti Arora of Karnal Range confirmed the case was registered at 1:40 pm.

The Superintendent of Police was also named in the complaint, but did not clarify whether an FIR was lodged against him. After the strictness of Anil Vij, DGP Manoj Yadav said that the complaint was being changed continuously. He said that the case will be registered as per the complaint of the victim. As far as filing a case on IPS is concerned, there may be an FIR against from a peon to a PM.
