57 cases have been filed against the French cosmetic company L'Oreal. L'Oreal and other cosmetic companies use harmful chemicals to straighten and soften hair, claims a federal court in Chicago. Due to such products, the risk of cancer and other diseases is increasing.

The lawsuits claimed that cosmetic companies knew about the harm of the dangerous chemicals used in these products, but continued to sell them nonetheless. US District Judge Mary Rowland has also ordered an investigation into the chemicals used by cosmetic companies.

The companies that have been accused include the US subsidiary of L'Oréal SA, India-based companies Godrej Son Holdings Inc., and Dabur International Ltd. The names of the representatives of the subsidiary companies are included. During this, L'Oreal has defended himself saying that baseless allegations are being leveled against them. No harmful chemical is being used in the product of our company.
