Aurangabad: BJP MLA from Maharashtra Babanrao Lonikar is in trouble due to an audio clip. Actually, an audio clip has gone viral on social media, in which Lonikar can be heard threatening the MSEDCL officer. In the audio, Lonikar is furious over the power supply being disconnected at his Aurangabad residence and is threatening an Income Tax department raid on an MSEDCL officer. After the incident came to light, State Energy Minister Nitin Raut has asked the administration to register a case against him.

However, Lonikar rubbished the allegations and termed the audio clip as fake. He said that through this an attempt is being made to tarnish his image. In the purported audio clip, Lonikar is seen asking an engineer of Maharashtra Pradesh Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) why the power to his bungalow in Aurangabad has been cut. Also, his meter box has been taken, while he has paid the outstanding bill of Rs 10 lakh this year.

The same minister Nitin Raut has said about the allegations against Lonikar that his language is completely unacceptable. MSEDCL will get all the details related to the incident and file a case. Along with this, Raut said, "The kind of language used by Lonikar while discussing with the officer is shocking. He has been leading public life for 30 years and is the cabinet minister of the state. His behavior made him speak decently. The BJP has been busted." He further said, "Lonikar's claim of paying Rs 10 lakh dues is bogus. The outstanding bill of both his residences is still up to Rs 4 lakh. He has not paid the bill for more than a year."
