Cricket enthusiasts in India are in for a treat as Disney+ Hotstar announces free streaming of the ICC Men’s T20 Cricket World Cup on its platform for smartphone users. This move comes after the success of a similar model during last year's ODI World Cup and Asia Cup, attracting record-breaking viewership.

The highly anticipated ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024 is slated to kick off on June 2 in the USA and the Caribbean. With 20 teams vying for glory, matches will be spread across three venues in the United States and six in the Caribbean.

Following the adrenaline rush of the Indian Premier League, fans can look forward to cheering for the Men in Blue, led by Rohit Sharma, as they aim for victory. Of particular interest is the India-Pakistan clash on June 9, a fixture eagerly anticipated worldwide.

Additionally, matches such as Australia vs. England and West Indies vs. New Zealand promise thrilling encounters, sure to draw large audiences.

This initiative by Disney+ Hotstar not only ensures wider accessibility to cricket but also provides advertisers with a vast viewership base for enhanced reach. Sajith Sivanandan, Head of Disney+ Hotstar India, emphasized the aim to unite people through the sport and expand its reach across the country.

The T20 World Cup matches will be available for streaming on handheld devices via Disney+ Hotstar, while Star Sports remains the official TV broadcaster.

India's T20 World Cup Squad boasts Rohit Sharma as captain, with Rishabh Pant as wicketkeeper and Hardik Pandya as vice-captain. Noteworthy inclusions are all-rounders Ravindra Jadeja and Shivam Dube, alongside spinners Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel, and Yuzvendra Chahal, who returns after a hiatus.

India's journey in the T20 World Cup begins with a match against Ireland on June 5 at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York. This match sets the stage for their subsequent encounters with Pakistan, USA, and Canada, leading up to the Super 8s stage, where they will vie against other group leaders.

The tournament's excitement peaks with the semi-finals on June 26th and 27th, culminating in the grand finale on June 29th in Bridgetown, Barbados.
