Bengaluru: on Monday, After the Supreme Court directed the state government to release 15,000 cusecs of Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu, the massive protests erupted in Karnataka, especially on the streets of Bengaluru and Mysuru.
Also, the Pro-Kannada activists set vehicles on fire in Bengaluru over the Cauvery water issue.
Due to rise in riots, Supreme Court announced section 144 in sensitive areas of the State. Also, the services of Buses and Metros are at halt for a duration of time to control the violence.
