KOLKATA:  The CBI  has announced a cash award for anyone who can update the Bureau about the state of affairs of absconding Trinamool Congress leader, Vinay Mishra, who is the key accused in the coal smuggling case in West Bengal.

The cash prize is worth Rs. 1,000,000. Vinay Mishra's address and a photo have been included in a newspaper ad from the CBI. The CBI assures in the advertisement that the informant's identity would remain a secret. Vikash Mishra, Vinay Mishra's younger brother, is currently in the care of investigators from the central agency.

He served as a middleman to collect illicit benefits on behalf of public employees and utilised his connections to grant patronage and security to the smugglers in exchange for cash that had been sent through fictitious shell firms. He has a medium build, stands at 165 cm tall, and was born on August 10, 1985, according to the CBI advertising outlining Vinay Misha's criminal history.

As per the last information available with the Central Bureau of Investigation,   Mishra is currently using a different identity to conceal himself on the island of Vanuatu. The agency has also sought the help of Interpol to track Mishra.
