CBI raids 42 places after Akhilesh's dream project Gomti River Front scam

Lucknow: CBI have conducted raids in several districts of the state over a river front scam along the Gomti river in Uttar Pradesh's capital Lucknow. Not only that, CBI have also raided West Bengal and Rajasthan besides UP. the CBI has also registered a new case to probe alleged irregularities in the river front project during Akhilesh Yadav's tenure. CBI are conducting searches at a total of 42 locations including 40 in UP, one each in Rajasthan and West Bengal.

This is the second FIR of CBI in the river front scam case. There are a total of 189 accused in the case. Apart from Lucknow in UP, CBI have raided Noida, Ghaziabad, Bulandshahr, Rae Bareli, Sitapur, Etawah, Agra. It may be recalled that under akhilesh yadav's government, the river front on the banks of river Gomti in Lucknow was called the dream project of Samajwadi Party (SP). Since the launch of the project, there have been allegations of major scams. The case was handed over to the CBI after an initial inquiry into the Yogi government in UP. Now CBI is clamping down on the big responsibilities of the scam.

Tell us that the scam worth about Rs 1500 crore is currently being investigated by CBI. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) had also registered a money laundering case and initiated an investigation. CBI lucknow anti-corruption team was investigating the case. The state government had three years ago recommended a CBI probe into the scam.
