CBI Chief Alok Verma's pleas in Supreme Court heard on Friday. Supreme Court issued notice to CVC, the Centre and CBI Special Director Rakesh Asthana on their pleas. It added that  Next date of hearing will be on November 12. Fali Nariman represented CBI Chief Alok Verma's plea in Supreme Court.  CJI Ranjan Gogoi  ruled that the new CBI director M Nageshwar Rao will not take any policy decisions till Supreme Court hears the matter again.

CJI Ranjan Gogoi stated that CVC will carry on probe in 10 days under the supervision of a judge of this court and M Nahgeshwar Rao shall perform only routine task.

He added that change of investigating officer by CBI will be furnished in sealed cover on 12 of November before SC.CJI Gogoi in his order also stated that inquiry in respect of the allegation made in the note of the Secretariat as regards the present CBI Dir Alok Verma shall be completed by the CVC within a period of 2 weeks from today. Worth mention here the top court said that the inquiry will be conducted by the retired SC judge AK Patnaik.

Meanwhile senior advocate Mukul Rohatgi appeared for CBI No 2 director Rakesh Asthana. The CJI asked Rohtagi to file a separate writ. For this, the advocate responded: "I have, please keep my writ on Monday".

Rakesh Asthana approached top court today.
