New Delhi: CM Arvind Kejriwal, who promised to provide 24-hour water to every house in Delhi after winning the election, has now demanded the central government to provide water to Delhi. Kejriwal has demanded that the central government provide 1,300 million gallons of water daily to ensure 24-hour water availability in Delhi. Kejriwal said that if the Center provides 1300 MGD water to Delhi, it will supply water for 24 hours. CM Kejriwal after inaugurating an underground reservoir (UGR) with a capacity of 1.1 crore liters in Patparganj village said that the Delhi government is making efforts to increase the availability of water in the city.

CM Kejriwal said that 'When the population of Delhi was around 80 lakhs, it used to get 800-850 MGD water. Even now the same amount of water is available here, while the population has now tripled to 25 million. He said that if 1,300 MGD water is provided to Delhi by the central government, then we will supply 24-hour water to every household in the city. There are 37,85,412 liters of water in one million gallons. He said that Delhi can be provided water from neighboring Uttar Pradesh and Haryana. He said that his government will work for this.

CM Arvind Kejriwal said that the Delhi government has built 7 UGR and three treatment plants in the last seven years. Rs 32 crore has been spent in making the UGR of Patparganj village. This will benefit about one lakh people of Patparganj village, Pandav Nagar, Shashi Garden, Mayur Vihar Society, and Chilla village.
