In the midst of this recession, the central government can ask for 45 thousand crore assistance from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). This claim has been made by news agency Reuters. According to Reuters news, the government can take these steps to increase revenue. If this happens then differences may arise again between the RBI and the government.

The Reserve Bank had asked to give 1.76 lakh crore rupees to the Central Government as a dividend. Out of this amount, Rs 1.48 lakh crore was given for the current financial year (2019-20). According to the report, the RBI earns profits largely from currency and government bond trading. RBI maintains a portion of these earnings as its operating and emergency funds. After this, the remaining amount goes to the government as dividend.
