New Delhi: The Modi government has decided to extend the tenure of the Enforcement Directorate and the chief of the CBI. Now the ED and CBI chief's tenure has been extended to 5 years.
The Indian Government has come out with an ordinance to extend the tenure of directors of ED and CBI by 5 years. The term of EDÂ and CBI chief is now for 2 years. The country has CBI's chief Subodh Jaiswal and ED chief Sanjay Kumar Mishra.
1 1 1 to get a three-year extension: According to the new ordinance, CBI and ED chief will be appointed for the first 2 years. This will be followed by an extension of 3 years. Three extensions can be given for one year each. But it shouldn't be more than 5 years in total.
