Gangtok: The Union Home Ministry has declared Nagaland, the northeastern state of the country, as disturbed area. A notification in this regard has also been issued by the ministry on Wednesday. According to this notification, the Ministry has declared the state as a 'disturbed area' for a period of next 6 months under the Armed Forces Privilege Act (AFSPA).

The ministry has said that the area coming under the border of the state is currently in a turbulent and dangerous condition. Due to this, it is necessary to use the armed forces to assist the civil administration here. In the notification issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, it said that the Central Government is of the opinion that the area within the border of the entire Nagaland state is in such a disturbed and dangerous condition that the armed forces are there to help the civil administration. It is very important to use.

The notification of the Ministry of Home Affairs states, 'Now the Central Government hereby makes use of the powers conferred by Section 3 of the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act, 1958 (No. 14 of 1958), for the purpose of the said Act, to make the entire Nagaland State 30 Declares a 'disturbed area' for a period of 6 months from December. '
