Mumbai: Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad has said in the Modi government 2.0 that former PM Jawaharlal Nehru is responsible for the condition of Jammu and Kashmir. He always tried to keep Kashmir isolated. While the then Union Home Minister Sardar Patel was in favour of keeping Kashmir within the ambit of Indian Constitution.

Union Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said that due to the strong decision of PM Narendra Modi and the will power of Home Minister Amit Shah, the same law has now been implemented in Kashmir. On the matter of the removal of Article 370 from Kashmir, Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said that I want to salute Sardar Patel because he united 565 princely states of the country. But Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru kept Kashmir out of Indian law.

Ravi Shankar Prasad said, 'Sardar Patel was always in favour of connecting Kashmir with the mainstream of India. But Nehru did not accept it immediately after independence and Kashmir was allowed to misuse this section for years, relying on Article 370. Even the child marriage law was not allowed to be implemented in the valley. The Union Law Minister also said that after independence till date 16 lakh crore rupees were given from the centre in Kashmir. But instead of the development of Kashmir, all this money went into the pockets of some people there.
