New Delhi: Union Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal has urged PM Narendra Modi that Congress leader should withdraw Bharat Ratna from former PM Rajiv Gandhi. Harsimrat Kaur's statement came in response to former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's statement that Manmohan had claimed that the anti-Sikh riots could have been prevented if the then Home Minister Narasimha Rao had accepted Inder Kumar's Gujarat.

Today, Hasimrat Kaur Badal tweeted, "Regarding clarifying the role of Rajiv Gandhi and his colleagues in the 1984 anti-Sikh riots by former PM Manmohan Singh, I ask the countrymen whether such a person deserves the Bharat Ratna honor?" Should any institute be named after him? I appeal to PM Narendra Modi to withdraw the Bharat Ratna from Rajiv Gandhi.'

At the same time, Akali Dal leader Sukhbir Badal has also appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to withdraw Bharat Ratna from former PM Rajiv Gandhi. Earlier, Union Minister Prakash Javadekar on Thursday condemned the link made by former PM Manmohan Singh on the 1984 anti-Sikh riots.
