The Ministry of Central Housing and Urban Cases may issue detailed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) on Wednesday for resuming metro trains within the guidelines of Unlock-4. Ministry secretary Durga Shankar Mishra held a meeting with the operational directors of all metro rail corporations on Tuesday to finalize the SOP. Metro trains will be operated in a gradual manner.

A ministry official said, "We heard the proposals of the managing directors of the metro, which will be discussed. As of now, the draft SOP has been prepared and it will be discussed with the Union Home Ministry on Wednesday. After which the SOP will be finalized. When the Metro trains start operating, the rules of wearing face masks and physical distance will be strictly followed".

Passengers will be encouraged to adopt anti-corona measures. For the Violation of the guidelines, the penalty will be charged. After the detailed SOPs are issued by 17 metro corporations of India, they can release their details as per local requirements. Delhi Metro Rail Corporation said last week that it will restore Metro services in a gradual manner from September 7.

According to Delhi Transport Minister Kailash Gehlot, a list is being prepared which consists the names of metro stations which will be opened on September 7. Gehlot has said that this list will be made public soon. Metro will probably remain closed in the Red Zone and Containment Zone.
