On the occasion of World Olympic Day, a half marathon was organized on Tuesday by Olympic Association Chamba. Drona Miltry Academy and Team The Himalayan rider Chamba were also supported in the successful event of Half Marathon. Despite heavy rains, youth and women played an active role in the half marathon. Deputy Commissioner Chamba Vivek Bhatia flagged off the half marathon from the Millennium Gate. The Half Marathon started at the Millennium Gate and ended up near the Saho Chandrashekhar Temple via Sarotha Naal, Chaminu, Palyur and Sanghera.

The convenor of the District Olympic Association also performed the ritual of honoring the deputy by presenting mementos. During this time, the flying boundary on the date of the special date was also awarded by the Olympic Association. The half marathon, which started in the midst of social distancing, was completed by the participants in one hour and twenty minutes. In the half marathon, Puneet Singh Kudiyal finished first, Himanshu Kumar second and Rahul Chauna finished third. Chamba Vivek Bhatia was the deputy commissioner of Karyaktram. Earlier, the Chief Guest wished the participants present. He also patted the Udanpari border for achieving achievements at an early age.

He called upon the youth and said that along with studies, keep participating in sports competitions also, so that you remain physically and mentally strong. District Olympic Association convenor Manuj Sharma said that the half marathon has been dedicated to the Corona warriors. He said that it was organized with the inspiration of Olympic State President and Union Minister of State for Finance Anurag Thakur. He said that Anurag Thakur is constantly working to promote sports in the state so that young talent gets a chance to come forward. He said a total run of more than 21 kilometers. 28 participants took part in this half marathon.
