The devastation continues due to heavy rains in Nepal and North Bihar. Due to the breakdown of the Ring Dam and Saran Dam in Gopalganj, the Champaran embankment has also broken due to the pressure of rising water in the Gandak River. In Nihalu Tola of Dakshin Bhawanipur panchayat of Sangrampur block, the dam is broken about 10 feet in width, and the water level is constantly increasing. People living in nearby villages have now left their homes and started migrating to take refuge in a high altitude place. There is an atmosphere of panic among the people due to the fear of severe floods. Officials including Areraj SDO, DSP are engaged in measures to reach people at a safe place. Water has started climbing on SH 74 in the middle.

Due to the water released from the Valmikinagar Barrage, the Saran major dam in Devapur, Barauli of Gopalganj has broken. Also, Saran dam has broken of Manjagarh block. On the other hand, the fast flow of the Gandak river is moving towards NH 28 (NH-28). An announcement has been made by the district administration to alert people in villages situated along the banks of Saran Dam.

There was a flow of 4 and half lakh cusecs of water in Gopalganj. There was a leak in Sikatia last night. After that, it was reported that the leak has started in Devapur Ring Dam of Barauli. By the time officers reached the spot and took stock of the situation, the ring dams shattered like cards.
