Defending champions Liverpool crashed out of the tournament with a margin of 2-3 and a total of 2-4 over Atletico Madrid in the extra-time match. Atlético scored all three goals in extra time. The second leg of the last-16 match between Paris Saint Germain (PSG) and Borussia Dortmant was also played between closed doors.
