Chandrababu Naidu to Take Office as Andhra Pradesh CM Today

Amaravati: Chandrababu Naidu, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, is set to officially assume office today. The ceremony will take place at the State Secretariat in Amaravati at approximately 4:41 pm.

According to an official release, Naidu will sign several key files upon assuming office. These include the Mega DSC notification, the revocation of the Land Titling Act, and an increase in social pensions for beneficiaries to Rs 4,000 per month. Additionally, he is expected to approve files related to the Skill Census exercise and the revival of Anna Canteens.

Naidu was sworn in as the 18th Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh on Wednesday, in a ceremony attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other leaders of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in Vijayawada. Alongside Naidu, a 24-member cabinet, comprising MLAs from the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), Janasena Party, and BJP, also took their oaths. The Governor of Andhra Pradesh, S Abdul Nazeer, administered the oath of office to the ministers.

Early Morning Rituals
Before assuming office, Naidu is scheduled to visit the Kanaka Durga Temple in Vijayawada to offer prayers. Following this, he will visit his residence in Vundavalli, Amaravati. Earlier in the day, Naidu, accompanied by his family, offered prayers at the Srivari Temple in Tirumala. The Chief Minister received a warm welcome from the temple authorities upon his arrival on Wednesday evening. Naidu's wife, Nara Bhuvaneshwari, his son and state minister, Nara Lokesh, Lokesh’s wife, Nara Brahmani, and their son joined him in the prayers.

A Veteran Leader
This marks the fourth time Naidu has assumed the role of Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and his second term following the bifurcation of the state in 2014. Naidu first became Chief Minister in 1995, serving until 2004. He returned to lead the bifurcated Andhra Pradesh from 2014 to 2019.

Naidu led the TDP-BJP-Janasena alliance to a decisive victory in the recent Assembly and parliamentary elections. The TDP secured a majority in the 175-member Andhra Pradesh Assembly with 135 seats. Its allies, the Janasena Party and BJP, won 21 and 8 seats, respectively. The opposition YSR Congress Party managed to secure only 11 seats.
