In a significant political development, Mohan Charan Majhi was sworn in as the new Chief Minister of Odisha on Wednesday, June 12th. The swearing-in ceremony of the Odisha government witnessed the oath-taking of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and two Deputy Chief Ministers, Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo and Pravati Parida.

Swearing-In Ceremony Held in Bhubaneswar

The newly appointed Chief Minister of Odisha, Mohan Charan Majhi, took the oath of office at the Janata Maidan in Bhubaneswar. Following suit, BJP leader Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo also took the oath as Deputy Chief Minister at the Janata Maidan in Bhubaneswar. Alongside, Pravati Parida, Odisha's newly appointed Deputy Chief Minister, also took the oath at the Janata Maidan in Bhubaneswar. Additionally, in Chief Minister Mohan Majhi's cabinet, Suresh Pujari, Ravinarayan Naik, Nityanand Gond, and Krishna Chandra Patra were sworn in as ministers.

During the ceremony, Prithviraj Harichandan, Vibhuti Bhushan Jena, and Mukesh Mahalinga took the oath for the position of Minister of State. Meanwhile, Ganesh Ram Singh Khuntia, Suryabanshi Suraj, Gokulanand Mallik, and Pradeep Balasamanta took the oath for the position of Minister of State (Independent Charge).

Presence of Prominent BJP Leaders, Including PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was among the dignitaries who attended the swearing-in ceremony of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi in Odisha. Apart from PM Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, JP Nadda, Rajnath Singh, Deputy Chief Minister of Haryana Dushyant Chautala, Chief Minister of Uttarakhand Pushkar Singh Dhami, Chief Minister of Gujarat Bhupendra Patel, and Chief Minister of Assam Himanta Biswa Sarma were also present in Bhubaneswar. During the event, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also had a conversation with former Chief Minister and BJD Chief Naveen Patnaik after the conclusion of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi's oath-taking ceremony.

BJP Secures Victory on 78 Seats in Assembly Elections

Mohan Charan Majhi, aged 52 and hailing from the Keonjhar district, has connections with the Santhal tribe. In the recent elections, Mohan Charan Majhi secured victory by defeating BJD's Meena Majhi by 11,577 votes. In the Odisha Assembly elections, the BJP secured victory on 78 out of 147 seats.
