Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh: On Tuesday, the Madhya Pradesh Government sanctioned a substantial Rs 24,420 crore subsidy for electricity consumers and approved over 46,000 new job vacancies in the health sector. These significant decisions were made during a state cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav in Bhopal.

The state cabinet, led by CM Yadav, unanimously approved the proposals, which aim to benefit various categories of electricity consumers and enhance the healthcare infrastructure in the state.

Before the meeting commenced, the council of ministers congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his third consecutive term as PM and praised CM Mohan Yadav for the BJP's victory in all 29 Lok Sabha seats in Madhya Pradesh.

Cabinet Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya, briefing the media post-meeting, highlighted the key decisions. "The cabinet expressed its congratulations to CM Yadav for the electoral success and to PM Modi for his third term. Additionally, we acknowledged the inclusion of six members from Madhya Pradesh in the Modi 3.0 cabinet, anticipating their cooperation in the state's development," Vijayvargiya stated.

He further elaborated on the cabinet's discussions and decisions, emphasizing the government's commitment to farmers and the provision of electricity subsidies. "The cabinet has approved a Rs 24,420 crore subsidy for various electricity consumers: Rs 6,000 crore for domestic users, Rs 13,000 crore for general category farmers, and Rs 5,000 crore for SC/ST farmers," he said.

In the health sector, the cabinet approved crucial measures to improve service quality. Vijayvargiya explained, "We have decided to fill vacant promotion posts through direct recruitment where eligible candidates are unavailable. There are 1,214 such positions, with half being filled via promotion and the other half through direct recruitment. Additionally, 46,491 new vacancies will be filled under the Indian Public Health Standards, including Grade 3 and Grade 4 employees and paramedical staff."

Moreover, the cabinet instructed the integration of three state universities—Rani Avanti Bai Lodhi Government University in Sagar, Krantisurya Tantya Bhil University in Khargone, and Tatya Tope University in Guna—with the Higher Education Department to ensure they meet all necessary requirements.
