BANGALORE: In a notable commemoration of the success of Chandrayaan-3, Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared that August 23 will henceforth be observed as the 'National Space Day' in India. During his address to the team of dedicated ISRO scientists in Bengaluru, PM Modi acknowledged the remarkable contribution of these scientists in not only sparking the curiosity of an entire generation but also profoundly influencing the minds of the youth.

Extolling the efforts of the brilliant minds responsible for India's triumphant lunar mission, PM Modi remarked, “You have transported 'Make in India' all the way to the moon." This declaration was made during his speech at the ISRO Telemetry Tracking & Command Network Mission Control Complex in Bengaluru.

The occasion became emotionally charged as Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to the esteemed members of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) who played a pivotal role in the Chandrayaan-3 mission. With genuine sentiment, PM Modi extended his heartfelt congratulations to the ISRO team for the impeccable execution of the Chandrayaan-3's lunar landing.

He expressed his deep appreciation by stating, “The precise spot where Chandrayaan-3’s moon lander touched down will now be designated as 'Shivshakti'. I was eager to meet all of you at the earliest and extend my wholehearted salute to your relentless endeavors."

To celebrate the successful landing of the Vikram Lander, PM Modi said the landing spot will be called 'Shivshakti.' He shared this news while talking at the ISRO Telemetry Tracking and Command Network Mission Control Complex in Bengaluru. PM Modi also talked about another achievement. He named the spot where Chandrayaan-2 had a rough landing the 'Tiranga point.' He reminded everyone that Chandrayaan-2 had left its mark on the moon's surface in 2019.

Further sharing his sentiments, PM Modi confessed, "Today, I am experiencing a distinct level of joy. Such moments are exceedingly rare, and this time, my anticipation was unparalleled. Even when I was in South Africa, my thoughts remained with you." He unequivocally conveyed his elation about the triumphant outcome of the Chandrayaan-3 mission.

Modi went on to announce, “The location on the lunar surface where Chandrayaan-2 left its indelible mark will be known as 'Tiranga'. This designation will serve as a wellspring of inspiration for every undertaking in India, serving as a reminder that any setback is not conclusive."

Meanwhile, Dr. S Somnath, the chairman of ISRO, shared comprehensive insights into the intricacies of the Chandrayaan-3 mission with Prime Minister Modi on Saturday, explaining the mission's process and achievements.
