St. Paul’s Cathedral, Kolkata

Located in Kolkata, the church comes under the Church of North India and has an extraordinary Gothic structure. Come Christmas Day 2017, and you will find hundreds of people coming to the church for the midnight mass service. The construction of St. Paul’s Cathedral was completed in 1847 and is located very close to the famed Victoria Memorial.

St. Philomena’s Cathedral, Mysuru

This incredible church located in Mysuru is called Cathedral of St. Joseph and St. Philomena and was constructed in 1936. It boasts a Neo-Gothic style and was inspired by the architecture of the Cologne Cathedral in Germany. Also, this is one of the tallest churches in Asia, so you should find it interesting as well as inspiring. During Christmas, you will be mesmerized by the service and decorations.

St. Thomas Church, Palayur

One of the holiest churches of the world, this is said to have been established by St. Thomas way back in 52 AD. Located in Thrissur district of Kerala, the church was refurbished in the 17th century. This one is part of six other churches that were also established by St. Thomas. You would feel close to divinity by being here for midnight mass, so do try your luck.

Basilica of Bom Jesus, Bainguinim

Located in Goa, this is definitely one of the top churches in India. The church is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and it holds the mortal remains of St. Francis Xavier. An example of Baroque architecture in India, the Basilica of Bom Jesus is one of the most important churches where you can visit. It was completed in 1605, and its mausoleum was designed by Florentine sculpture Giovanni Battista Foggini in the 17th century.
