Transgenders Police force are ready to serve the state :Chattisgarh

Raipur: Chattisgarh govt all set to include transgenders in its police force. Today ANI took interview of Aspirants who are preparing for recruitment.

On e of aspirants expressed his joy and said, “We’re happy that govt took this step. We’ll leave no stone unturned to clear tests & serve the state. Ppl help & guide us a lot”, as quoted by ANI.

Now Chattisgarh has become the first state to be doing so.

Out of 27 districts in Chattisgarh, 17 are reeling from the Maoist insurgency. To tackle this issue, the Chattisgarh Police Force is planning to recruit 35,000 constables from these 27 districts.

Making a history with socially turning point moment for the transgender community in Chattisgarh, this police recruitment drive opened gates for employments to them.

Pawan Deo, Additional Director General of Police (recruitment) of the state is a man behind this grand step.

On a related note this is not the first time when transgenders have been in the police force. Prithika Yashini and R Nasriya are working in the police force of Tamil Nadu.

But, this is the very first time when the police force is dynamically opening recruitment to transgenders.

In Chattisgarh, transgenders can avail of 14% reservation, in government jobs and education. This has helped in upbringing the community, which frequently faces depressing discrimination, into the typical society.
