Vaccination drive is running around across the entire nation. People are encouraged to get corona vaccine jab as a precaution to themselves. Meanwhile, the Centre announced corona vaccine shots for all above 18 in nation. In the same view, Chhattisgarh chief minister Bhupesh Baghel announced free shots to this age group.
CM Baghel also requested the Centre to supply an adequate number of vaccine jabs in the state. He said target to inoculate all above 18 should be reached without any hindrance. Also, the Centre declared to expand the vaccination drive against COVID-19 by opening up the vaccination process for all adults aged 18 years or above from May 1. The Congress-ruled government in state on Wednesday announced that the state government will bear the cost of the vaccine jabs to all above 18. Chhattisgarh CM said “Expenses, to vaccinate all aged above 18 years in Chhattisgarh, will be borne by the state govt. We will take all possible steps to protect our citizens’ lives. Request central govt to ensure availability of an adequate number of vaccines.” On Sunday, he reviewed the current status of coronavirus pandemic in 10 districts of the state, preventive measures and arrangements made for the treatment of patients in a virtual meeting held at his residence office.
While the state added 12,345 fresh cases of Covid-19 to the nationwide tally, which currently stands above 15 million. Chattisgarh also reported 170 fatalities due to the viral infection on Monday. Amid COVID vaccine shortage fears, the state on Monday received 5,716,550 doses.
