Raipur: To encourage cleanliness in the villages of Chhattisgarh, an award of Rs. 4.34 crore has been announced by the Swachh Bharat Mission. It is being told that CM Bhupesh Baghel will felicitate selected Panchayats and participants on Gandhi Jayanti. Panchayat and Rural Development Minister T.S. Singhdev has given information in this regard.

He has told that those who do good work would be rewarded for promoting cleanliness, sustainability, community participation and cleanliness habits. Minister T.S. While giving information, Singhdev said "Chhattisgarh is working according to the Clean India Mission. With this encouragement, and awakening will be created in the villagers to achieve an excellent state of cleanliness and maintain it continuously. The selected winners will be given prizes on the occasion of the birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi on 2 October."

Singhdev said "By doing this, there will be changes in the hygiene habits of the people of rural areas. Along with this, awareness will be created about solid and liquid waste management, plastic waste management and menstrual hygiene among women and adolescent girls". According to the information received, a prize of Rs 5001 will be given to every winner of Swachh Sundar Toilet Award under the State Cleanliness Award-2020.
