Conrad Sangma, the chief minister of Meghalaya, Mukul Sangma, the leader of the opposition, and Speaker Metbah Lyngdoh convened on a single stage on Tuesday evening to perform Christmas carols.
Meghalaya Speaker Metbah Lyngdoh hosted a pre-Christmas event in the ancient Assembly premises in Shillong's Police Bazaar. Conrad Sangma, the chief minister, and Mukul Sangma, the opposition leader, gathered together to perform Christmas carols, despite their political disagreements.
Charles Pyngrope, the TMC leader and former Speaker of Meghalaya, also joined the three on stage to perform Christmas carols.The event was also attended by MLAs and employees from the Meghalaya Assembly.
“Was delighted to join Hon’ble Speaker, Hon’ble Leader of Opposition & Hon’ble MLA in singing the #Christmas carol at the Pre-Christmas Celebration joined by our colleagues. #Meghalaya sends its Christmas blessings to each of you,” tweeted CM Conrad Sangma.
