Ranchi: Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren on Monday lashed out at the BJP. He said the state government has been forced to implement the Anti Mob Lynching Bill after the Ravan party came to power at the Centre. Soren alleged that the saffron party was destroying the social fabric of the country. Soren said the recently concluded Assembly has passed the Prevention of Mob Violence and Mob Killings Bill, 2021 in the winter session. The Bill will prevent anti-social elements from taking over the law. The CM said the Central government should have brought such a bill to ensure the safety of the people of the country.
Soren, executive chairman of the ruling Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) in the same state, also alleged that the Centre's decision to reduce the legal age of marriage of girls to 21 years is politically motivated. He questioned whether the Central Government is also considering to increase the voting age to 21 years.
CM Soren said, "Anti-mob lynching laws are not Hindu, Muslim or tribal laws because mobs are just mobs. We were forced to bring this law because the BJP, after gaining power at the Centre, has created an atmosphere like Ravan, which is destroying the social fabric of India. He said the BJP wants to make India a Hindu nation. They are considered intellectual but they are misleading the people. The CM also raised the demand for a caste-based census. He claimed that this will help policymakers to chalk out schemes for backward castes.
