In view of this, discussions have started on postponing the Assembly elections in five states. Talking to media, Congress Rajya Sabha MP Mallikarjun Kharge said that when PM Modi holds election rallies, launches various projects and also organizes parliament proceedings, why should assembly elections be postponed? He said there should be elections. Assembly elections are due in Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Goa and Manipur early next year, but there are also discussions on postponing the corona in view of the growing spread.
