Chief officer of election commision affirms, PM Modi followed code of conduct: Gujarat polls 2017

PM Modi's road show after casting vote is a clear case of violation of the model code of conduct. EC it seems is working under pressure from PM and PMO: Ashok Gehlot, Congress.

The Congress Party is apparently pained at the Election Commission for allowing the PM Modi to walk from the polling booth to his profession and in turn ‘influence’ the voters.

The Prime Minister on Thursday came to a poll booth in Ranip, Ahmedabad as the state votes in phase two of the Gujarat Elections. He was addressed by hundreds of supporters who were at the polling booth to catch a glimpse of the Prime Minister.

After voting, the Prime Minister walked out of the booth, came out and showed his ink-stained index finger to signal that he had voted. He then walked towards his cavalcade, greeting his supporters before getting on his car.

The Congress Party who clearly enclosed the bitter pill with the Election Commission blocking Rahul Gandhi’s interview on Wednesday has now lodged a complaint. Congress feels that the Prime Minister has violated the Model Code of Conduct by walking the distance, — roughly about 100 metres — has campaigned on polling day.
